So Mainnet is finally here and ramping up, but how to get started?

Pathfinders Guild have put together a resource to help. Wherever your interests lie, we hope this helps you get started. It is very much pitched as Beginner’s Guide so use it to the extent you need it**.**

If you have any questions or would like to explore anything in more detail we’d love to hear from you in the discord.

Links to dApps here take you to a more detailed guide for each dApp where you’ll find a legitimate link to the dApp itself. Please be careful about links you find elsewhere.

Wallets

Many of you will have participated in testnet and already have some (or all) of the wallets you need. If you don’t yet have a wallet then you can get started with one or more of these.

Please find detailed guides here:

Since not all dApps on mainnet support all of these wallets, you might find that you will need more than one.

You may either import your existing address using either seed phrase/private key or open up a new address in your new wallet.

Generally speaking, we would recommend having more than 1 wallet active so that you can divide across different functions and reduce risk. Especially if you are holding substantial sums on the Movement network, consider having different wallets for different functions (such as HODL, Defi, NFTs, Degen/Memecoin).

There is no problem having more than 1 wallet for the purposes of Parthenon V2, you will be able to register more than one wallet as yours and be credited for your aggregated actions.

Funding your wallet

Having setup your wallet(s) they will need to be funded.

The native gas token of the Movement Network is the $MOVE token itself. Gas will vary from time-to-time and across functions. But you can anticipate approximately 0.006 per transaction on average.

Many of you will be receiving $MOVE as part of the Movedrop which you will able to use for any purpose you want.

The other way is by bridging $MOVE from Ethereum:

Later it will also become possible to send native $MOVE directly from CEXs. But this is not yet available at the time of writing. If you have $MOVE on a CEX you can either withdraw to Ethereum and then bridge or else wait for native withdrawal.

Swapping

Many of you will want to start with swapping.

You might want to start with the Aggregators (think Jupiter on SOL):

After you become comfortable you can look at the following DEXs: YuzuSwap LiquidSwap Interest Protocol Meridian Warpgate

A brief guide to stables

(USD linked) Stablecoins will likely be an important part of your plans. A variety of “Stables” will be available to you and you should be aware that there are some differences. The following is just a brief guide to enable your “DYOR”.

First, you have USDC and USDT the two best known “centralized” Stablecoin products.

But you might also come across some more sophisticated “decentralized” Stablecoin products on Movement.

These include two products by Ethena: first is USDe a synthetic stablecoin designed to maintain its peg to USD through crypto collateral and short positions to maintain a delta neutral position. Second is sUSDe which is yield bearing staked version and thus not pegged to USD in this sense. Additionally you might see Arche Protocol’s MSD and Frax’s frxUSD/sfrxUSD.

Defi

You might also want to make use of the various Defi offerings as a strategy to increase your $MOVE and/or Stable holdings.
